Ambulance Crew In Beckley Under Quarantine

In Beckley, the crew of a Jan Care vehicle that unknowingly came into contact with coronavirus when they transported a patient for an entirely unrelated medical emergency, are now under quarantine. According to the company, the patient the four transported has since been diagnosed with COVID-19. The patient was tested for COVID-19 at the hospital, and two days later the results came back positive.The company also says moving forward, its crews will wear masks for any call they go on.

Greenbrier County Confirms First COVID-19 Case

Greenbrier County has confirmed its first case of COVID-19. The person under investigation had known risk factors related to travel and has been under quarantine since returning home. This patient was symptomatic but is recovering at home with supportive measures. Health officials say they along with medical providers are continually monitoring this fluid situation. They’re also reaching out to see about anyone else who may have come in contact with the individual.

Emergency Services Discussion In Monroe County

This year’s emergency services funding up for discussion by Monroe County Commissioners. At a Wednesday meeting, first responders and others turned out to talk abou expenses for ambulances and emergency care and the best ways to provide that care. What comes next is the bidding process in which a bid packate will go out to see which companies can offer what in terms of the mission.

Plea Deal In Greenbrier County Murder Case

A plea deal in a Greenbrier County murder case this week. Edwood G. Reyes-Cortijo plead “not guilty by reason of mental illness, but guilty to murder in the first degree in regard to the facts. The plea in Greenbrier County Circuit Court is connection with the March 2nd, 2017 stabbing death of his roommate Bradley Morales-Andrades. In October of that year, Reyes-Cortijo, was indicted for his murder.
